Magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit Coquimbo, Chile

Strong earthquake measured as magnitude 6.1 hit Coquimbo in Atacama region, Chile at 19:02:05 UTC on November 14, 2012  according to USGS and EMSC. The epicenter was located 82 km (50 miles) N of 82 km (50 miles) SW of Vallenar, Chile with coordinates 29.157°S, 71.272°W. The nearest populated village is Andacollo; 13 km NW of the epicenter. USGS registered epicenter at depth of 61.8 km (38.4 miles) while EMSC registered depth of 20 km. Local agencies report magnitude 6.3.
