David P. Werklund , , , Executive Chairman

An acclaimed Canadian entrepreneur, oilfield-industry leader, and dedicated philanthropist, David (Dave) P. Werklund cultivated his can-do attitude from his wholesome upbringing in rural Alberta. Growing up on a farm fostered a solid work ethic, promoted a strong foundation of core values, and nurtured an appreciation for protecting the environment. It is where Dave's business philosophy was established and is fundamental to the operations of the Werklund Family Office.

An entrepreneur at heart, Dave has a remarkable desire to "always do better" and an extraordinary knack for recognizing and seizing opportunities. His industrious career began in 1965 at Shell Canada where he worked as a Production Manager. It was here where Dave recognized and capitalized on the need to address environmental and waste management issues in the oil and gas exploration industry. He co-founded Concord Well Servicing in 1979 and grew it from a one-rig operation to the third largest well service company in Canada.

His business ventures did not stop there. In 1984, Dave founded Canadian Crude Separators with an initial investment of $50,000 in a small oilfield service company in northern Alberta. His vision for environmental stewardship drove the company to produce cutting-edge advancements and progressive technologies. By 2007, Dave had distinguished CCS Corporation as a $3.7 billion multi-faceted corporation. Today, the company employs 4,000 personnel and is internationally recognized and trusted as an industry leader providing integrated and environmentally responsible services to upstream and downstream oil and gas companies across North America.

In 2006, Dave redirected his entrepreneurial endeavours with the establishment of the Werklund Family Office, a unique private family organization preserving and promoting the legacy and values of the Werklund family, and providing tailored personal and wealth management services for individual family members.

Kevin Roycraft , , , President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Roycraft brings to Aveda more than 20 years of Operational and Business Development experience in a variety of Transportation Modes. Most recently serving as Vice President of Operations for Liquid Transport Corp, a privately owned company based in Indianapolis, IN and one of the largest bulk oil/chemical transportation companies in North America. Prior to his promotion, Mr. Roycraft served Liquid Transport as Director of Business Development with responsibilities for National Account growth, securing acquisitions, organic terminal expansions and directing the Logistics arm of the organization. Mr. Roycraft’s career also includes successful Leadership roles in Operations and Sales for LTL transportation companies; Roadway Express and Watkins Motorlines. Mr. Roycraft holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Purdue University in Organizational Leadership and Supervision.

Bharat Mahajan , , , Chief Financial Officer, Vice President Finance

Mr. Mahajan most recently was the Chief Executive Officer of NavNet Inc., a private company that designs, develops and manufactures home automation solutions. Prior thereto, Mr. Mahajan’s distinguished career included several positions with Magna International, where he was responsible for launching two very successful divisions along with overseeing various international growth initiatives. Mr. Mahajan was also, Chief Financial Officer for WellPoint Systems Inc., a company specializing in software for the oil and gas industry and Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Norex Exploration Services Inc., a seismic exploration company. Mr. Mahajan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant.

Paula Breeze , , , Vice President, Human Resources

Paula Breeze has 15 years HR experience, with a strong background as a subject matter expert in talent management. Most recently, Ms. Breeze spent several years as a Senior Manager at WestJet Airlines, having helped deliver its objective of becoming one of Canada's most admired corporate cultures. Previously Ms. Breeze was a senior HR business partner on many operational teams at Air Liquide Canada and the Pepsi Bottling Group, helping leaders deliver an amazing employee experience through strategic planning and execution. Being recognized for developing innovative employee relations plans Ms. Breeze’s key responsibilities at Aveda will be to create a culture of empowerment and to ensure that each of our employees feel valued and respected. Ms. Breeze holds bachelor degrees in Human Resources and Sustainable Development and completed an MBA at the University of Calgary.

Stephen Chaplin , , , Vice President, Health, Safety & Environment

Mr. Chaplin brings more than 25 years experience in resource based industries and Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E;). With a diverse background, his experience consists of operations, HS&E;, organizational design, environmental management, and development of stewardship plans. Originally from the forest resource industry, Mr. Chaplin has held several leadership roles in operations and health and safety. Prior to joining Aveda, he worked for Weyerhaeuser and Western Forest Products and was most recently part of the Senior Management team for the BC Forest Safety Council (BCFSC). In this role, he led the development and management of the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program and injury management initiatives as a certifying partner for the British Columbia Forestry Sector.

Mr. Chaplin is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology Forestry Resource Program, and University of Fredericton, Health, Safety and Environmental Processes Program. He also actively maintains professional development in Organizational Leadership and holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.

Tim Clark , , , Vice President, US Operations

Mr. Clark is a growth focused management executive with more than 17 years of experience in a results driven career focused on empowering business organizations, optimizing market opportunities, enhancing performance and leading teams in achieving corporate goals. Having served in multiple executive level roles in the private sector, he brings with him a unique blend of operational, sales and financial experience that enables him to streamline operations and exceed targeted expectations. Most recently Mr. Clark spent two years in the Bakken region of North Dakota executing a multi-faceted business plan for private investors. Mr. Clark is graduate of Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island.

Darwin Hartley , , , Vice President, Canadian Operations

Mr. Hartley has spent his entire career in the Oil and Gas industry. Starting his career with Continental Emsco, a service and supply company, Mr. Hartley was dedicated to providing strong customer service to the drilling and production industries throughout Alberta. In 1985 he joined Precision Drilling when it was a small private company. Mr. Hartley spent 19 years progressing through the organization. He ended his tenure as an Operations Manager and helped develop Precision Drilling into the largest land based drilling contractor in North America. With an entrepreneurial spirit he purchased an ownership share in a private oilfield trucking company, Robin’s Oilfield Hauling and Hotshot Services Ltd. Here he served as General Manager, Vice President Operations. Mr. Hartley was instrumental in expanding this small business into a best in class, safety focused oilfield hauling business. In 2006 this company was bought by Aveda Transportation and Energy Services.
