2007 Barrie Windcatchers holds OPEN HOUSE A new organization working closely with partners, including the City of Barrie, Georgian College, Living Green Barrie, Ontario Sustainable Energy Assoc. and the Ontario Co-operative Assoc., will be holding an open house in order to make an announcement on an upcoming project and to answer questions about bringing wind energy generation to Barrie. Barrie Windcatchers' spokesperson, Barry Green says, "This Open House is a culmination of over 2 years of work to get to this stage and we are very excited to share our vision with the citizens of Barrie." "We will be talking about our project and how we are working with community partners in bringing wind power generation to Barrie." "This is a win-win solution to the citizens of Barrie and for the environment. Capturing the power of the wind is actually an old idea with modern advances that makes it very viable as a clean energy solution." Barrie Windcatchers is a newly incorporated non-profit co-operative. It is a grass-roots based citizens group who are in the process of developing wind-generated energy in Barrie.
