Mila Freight International Inc. is a Canada Customs Bonded carrier who is fully licensed and insured trucking company operating under common carrier authority. We specialize in both truckload and less than truck load shipments into and out of WNY. We provide direct, an expedited door-to-door service and we make arrangements to move shipper’s product to its final destination, and all they have to do is to make one call. We provide our customers with outstanding service by informing them of every step of the way of the status of their shipment. Our success has been based on complete customer satisfaction by providing precise on time information. We truly become partners in our customer’s success by supplying an extra level of effort, combined with up to the minute information on all the transportation alternatives available.

To ensure that the cargo is handled expeditiously all shipments are monitored daily and the customers receive a verbal confirmation of delivery on each shipment. This procedure lets them know of any delivery problems and the corrective action taken before it becomes a problem. We earn our customers business and respect by making them look good.

DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY’S PROCEDURES:

  • Customers orders are received via phone, fax, e-mail
  • All orders received from freight brokers must have written confirmation, including the name , address, phone/fax number and contact name of the shipper and consignee; date and the time of p/u and delivery; number of pieces and weight; description of product; the name of the customs border; any special instructions and price confirmation
  • Orders received from our regular shippers via phone do not require written confirmation of the above, unless there are some special instructions
  • In most cases the owner-operators (drivers) are dispatched over the phone. In this case they are responsible to fill out the Bill of Lading information; fax paperwork to the office to arrange customs clearance (PAPS/PARS); keep the dispatch informed about the delays or other problems; confirm pick-up /delivery time; fill out trip sheets by accurately recording actual kilometers using odometer information; attach credit card receipts to the appropriate trip sheet; fill out log books
  • For the next day deliveries, the dispatcher provides the owners-operators with complete customs paperwork, including B/L and E-manifests, but the drivers are still responsible for filling out trip sheets by accurately recording actual kilometers using odometer information; attach credit card receipts to the appropriate trip sheet; fill out log books
  • All paperwork, including POD, customs release papers, bond papers, trip reports, log books must be submitted to the dispatcher the same or the next day
  • The paperwork received is checked in the office, and filed accordingly
  • All shipments are billed to the clients after receiving POD
  • The dispatchers and the drivers must keep the line of communication open at all times in order to provide an excellent service to our clients.
