We were just having fun! and there was no drummer!

Johnny says “Our best work is behind us!!” Phil could make anyone sound good! Burnt Rose was one of Phil’s “B” bands…when not with his “A” Team, Powerhouse, he joined us on stage.

Some songs are in here more than once as they were recorded in different studios at different times, with different players. The * represents 1st to 3rd time recorded. Once again, most of these are demos. Except for the ones as listed, they were recorded in the livingroom (BRMusic). Some are good, some are bad. There are lots not in here yet and there is pretty much something that needs changing in most of them. But they are ours and this is our record!

Here you'll find a good sampling of our journey. There is lots more in the archives to come, but if I waited to have it all ready...we wouldn't be here!

There is only 1 cover tune in our players on pages(there will be covers in posts), "Duelling Harps" and it was written by our friend Elvin Ryckman of Fisherville, ON and recorded with permission. - we love this song!

Throughout our lives, Johnny and I were privileged with the dear friendship and the last decade of collaboration with Phil Kott. A huge portion of the music on this site is testimony of his talents and style versatility. None of this music is mastered, some of it incomplete...there was always something we thought we could fix or do better or finish later, moving on to the next tune! There are no words to convey the fun and joy of its creation or the loss we feel now. Burnt Rose Music (2002 -2010) was Phil, Johnny and me. Writing, Arrangements, Performances, Engineering and Production are credited to this configuration of Burnt Rose Music.

As we work our way through all the tapes and files, finding forgotten gems, they will be added and as we remix and maybe even fix some of what is here already, we'll post that there are changes and new material available. Hope you enjoy this as much as we did.
