The "Central 9" is a great walk, with a good mix of contoured fairways, dramatic bunkering and strategic ponds The 3rd hole is a par five dog-leg right, reachable in two, but that second shot needs to avoid bunkers, trees and a flat green that doesn't hold many strong approach shots.
The "South 9" starts by testing your nerves as you hit from an elevated tee over Bear Creek, and hopefully, up on to the tree-lined fairway just 160 yards away. It seems simple until you're standing at the tee looking over that ravine. The South 9 offers a good mixture of rolling hills, some water and waste bunkers a couple of challenging par fives.
The new gem "Island 9", which opened in 2009, ups the ante with water on 6 holes, some narrow fairways, challenging greens and devious pin-placements. The signature hole is the par 3 eighth - 154 yards to a green surrounded by water. There is an option to bring the tee deck back for tournament hole-in-one
