FeesWhen a family breaks up, the strain on finances is often greater than it has ever been and ever will be. The Canadian Co-Parenting Centres endeavors to provide exceptionally high quality services in a way that is affordable, sustainable, and proportional to each person's circumstances and conduct. For parenting coordination services the standard rate of private practitioners ranges from about $250 per hour to
about $400 per hour (some even higher). Utilizing certain competitive advantages, Canadian Co-Parenting
Centres is able to provide high end services at a rate that is at the low end of the
market range, $250. Also, depending on a person's conduct and circumstances, they will have their fees deferred,
and later waived, in part or even in full. While it is generally easy to identify the extremes of who deserves assistance
and who does not, determining the relative merit in a way that is consistent and repeatable is more difficult, and we are
engaged in an ongoing process of developing and refining such a method. According to Wikipedia, the pay it forward phrase may have been coined by Lily Hardy Hammond in her 1916 book, In the Garden of Delight. The concept dates back to at least 317 BC, in Dyskolos, a prizewinning play in ancient Athens. The term "pay it forward" was popularized by Robert A. While blindly trusting someone to pay it forward happens in the movies, and is a heartwarming ideal to hold, the cold hard reality is that many people don't. To assist people when they are struggling with the financial impact of separation and divorce, Canadian Co-Parenting Centres offers opportunities for each person to have all, or a portion of, his or her fees waived. For some people, their circumstances, their consistent and concerted efforts, their genuine gratitude, and their history of giving to others, warrants a waiving of their fees. CCPC endeavours to maximize our capacity to help such people. Unfortunately, there are others who are in circumstances that are primarily of their own doing, who are not consistently putting forth their best efforts, do not have genuine gratitude for what they receive, and have historically not been generous and have not given to others. While it's not our place to judge, we believe that we should not blunt the natural forces that are trying to promote positive change, and that we should direct our limited resources prudently. Fee and Deposit Agreements Unfortunately, we live in a world where not everyone engages honestly in things like paying it forward. In order to protect the agency's capacity to assist people who are honest and grateful, we have everyone sign a Fee/Deposit Agreement. Links to those are provided below. Instead of asking for a large retainer, as many professionals do, we simply have people sign an agreement and we take a manual imprint of their credit card. The $500 deposit does not get processed, so it won't show up on your next statement. It's simply held as a deposit. (If you do not have a credit card, please inform us in advance of your initial meeting, so that other arrangements can be prepared.) Personal Guarantee If the agency expends resources and does not receive a reasonable contribution back, it impacts all the good people who are doing their part. To ensure that the generosity of the agency is not exposed to the hazard of clients declaring bankruptcy, we ask people to have someone provide a personal guarantee.
