Catherine Berg is a seasoned entrepreneur and corporate executive with primary experience in public companies trading on TSX and Nasdaq, with a focus on international business development and corporate finance with strengths in identifying and building target markets for emerging technologies.

She was the co-founder of a successful facilities management software company and most recently an Innovative and environmentally progressive construction technology.

While travelling the world to build these companies, an appreciation of regional cuisines developed into a desire to learn more. Hence, obtaining a degree from Dubrulle French Culinary School in Vancouver. An education in culinary arts led to more training and a passion to develop these skills within the industry.

Catherin’s start in the industry came through the conversion of Catherine’s vacation home on Hornby Island into “Gull Cottage Cooking School.” The cooking school was embraced by the island and classes sold out within hours of being posted. Utilizing island grown products, live jazz music and guest chefs from Vancouver, the school became wildly popular.

After selling the property on Hornby, a move to Comox transitioned Catherine to becoming a Chef at The Pier, Monte Christo on the River, Heriot Bay Inn on Quadra Island, and consulting as an Executive Chef to several restaurants in Nanaimo and Comox.

Recently engaged as Chef at the Comox Golf Club, Catherine is looking forward to providing the patrons and members of the Club with a combination of business and cooking skills that translate into a success for all involved.
