Donnellan,
Thomas ‘Tom" Robert -
68, Lower Branch, Lunenburg County passed away at home on Friday,
August 17, 2012. Born in Boston, Mass., he was the youngest son of the
late Paul and Katherine (Drummond) Donnellan. He is survived by his
wife of 43 years, Kathleen (Mackenzie); son, Peter, Mount Pleasant;
daughter, Pamela and grandchildren, Lucas and Logan, Bridgewater. He
is also survived by three full brothers, William, Florida, John,
Boston, and Philip, California; many nieces and nephews; three
half-brothers, Tom, Michael and Kevin Berrigan, all of Boston. He was
a foster son to the late Mary and Henry Kennedy, Boston and is a
foster brother to Ann L. Kennedy and Richard Kennedy, Florida. He was
predeceased by two full brothers, Paul and Francis. Tom moved from
Boston to Nova Scotia in 1954 and lived with the late James Boyle and
his daughter, Evelyn Boyle in Caledonia, Queen’s County.
Evelyn raised him as her son and she, as his mother who molded him as
a person and taught him value, strength and love in the important
years of his life. He is also survived by Evelyn and her sisters,
Pauline and Mildred Boyle who were great in their support to Tom
during his life. Tom worked at Michelin, Bridgewater for 26 years,
retiring in 1999 in order to devote his life and time in the building
and development of Peter’s Place, Mount Pleasant, a
community based Rehabilitation Centre for the Brain Injured. He and
Kathleen owned and operated the facility for 16 years before retiring
for a second time in 2010. There will be no visitation at the funeral
home. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church, Bridgewater, Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.
with Father John Farrell presiding (Tom’s cousin). Interment
to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may
be made to the QE11 Health Sciences Centre Foundation
(Craig’s Cause) for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and
Pancreatic Cancer Patient Support Fund 1-888-428-0220. Arrangements
