Importing antiques from Hong Kong in the 1980’s. Building my awareness and experience by doing shows, attending fairs, auctions and exhibitions throughout Europe and North America in my pursuit of knowledge and contacts. In 2014 I opened Context Design, a Toronto based antiques and interiors shop (selling English, European and North American antiques and decorative arts to collectors and interior designers) until I moved to the north Cotswolds in 2019.
I received my Master’s Degree in Decorative Fine Arts from Sotheby’s Institute in London in 2022 and started Brian Knapp Antiques with a showroom close to my home in Blockley.
This collection is not static, but rather a work in progress as I continue to buy and sell, broker, source and consult.
I encourage you to ask the how, where, and why of the objects I am offering here, and I will do my best to provide direction and information.
