Alliance Pipeline
Circumstances
Alliance Pipeline decided that they needed to replace their legacy system in an effort to improve their ability to meet future business development opportunities. It was also important that Alliance resolve system performance issues, especially with respect to shipper nomination processing and scheduling, that resulted from challenges with their legacy system. Cetelex Systems Inc. was contracted to develop a new gas transportation management system that would meet Alliance's needs in a timely fashion.
Action
The project was started in October 2001 by a team of four Cetelex developers and six Alliance employees. The team utilized a prototyping approach that allowed for a phased implementation of functional modules.
- Imbalance Management implemented January, 2002.
- Accounting implemented April, 2002.
- Development completed October, 2002.
- Testing, Documentation, Training & Implementation completed April, 2003.
- Panther, Panther Web & Panther Capacity Release in production May, 2003.
Results
The Panther project at Alliance Pipeline was completed 2 months early. It was also completed within budget and satisfied all of Alliance's functional requirements.
