Owner Profile

Marc McCrae is the owner of DRAGSTAR – Canada’s newest source for custom dragsters and components.  Marc is an accomplished welder, fabricator and drag racing enthusiast. Over the past 12 years he has worked for one of Canada’s most prominent Hot Rod and Race Car shops, where he has had his hands in building some of North America’s fastest and most recognized doorslammers and finest quality hot rods. 

Marc was a key builder and crew member for Gary Irving’s record setting 1937 Chevy Nitro Coupe and also Rod Saboury’s lastest creation, a twin turbo 1963 Corvette that has just become “The World’s Fastest Street Car”. Marc’s 15 years in drag racing has made him a familiar face across a variety of drag racing sanctioning bodies.

Heading up DRAGSTAR, Canada’s only all dragster shop, Marc specializes in custom basic chassis to full show quality turnkey cars. In addition DRAGSTAR is currently constructing a 240” DRAGSTAR Starlink custom dragster with its unique rear suspension design, in house composite body and a few other little tricks. Be sure to watch for it in the 2009 drag race season with T.J Schippling at the controls!
