Driftwood Lodge
Enjoy the simple pleasures...

We are located in North Ingonish on the ocean side of the Cabot Trail. Keep an eye out for the “Red House” with bright yellow trim and you will find us. Regardless in which direction you travel, be sure to allow plenty of time for sightseeing, particularly through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Travelling North on the Cabot Trail:

From the Trans Canada Highway (#105) travelling south from the Sydney area or north from the Canso Causeway or Baddeck areas, take exit 11 or 12.  Exit 11 will take you around St. Ann’s Bay past the Gaelic College, several artisan’s shops and beautiful views.  Exit 12 will take you through Englishtown onto a cable ferry ($5.25 / vehicle, 24 hour service), saving approximately 20 minutes if the traffic is not heavy.  If the amber light on the ferry sign is flashing, you must take exit 11, as the ferry is not operational.  Continue north on the Cabot Trail over Cape Smokey into Ingonish.  We are located at 36139 Cabot Trail, 8 km (5 mi) north of the entrance to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park, on your right.

Travelling South through the Cape Breton Highlands National Park from Highway 19, Margaree, Chéticamp, Pleasant Bay and Cape North:

Exit the national park just past Broad Cove campground and continue approximately 2 km along the Cabot Trail to find us on the left side of the road (36139 Cabot Trail), just past Lynn’s Craft Shop.
