Nurturing the soul is achieved in endless ways. Meditation. Prayer. Exercise. Music. Journaling. Adventure. And, by the comforting foods we prepare and enjoy whether at a shared meal or alone. My father was a fabulous cook. His children and grandchildren are too. Leftovers were his specialty. When visiting, the first place his family headed was for the fridge! Some of my fondest childhood memories were my birthdays when I was able to order my favorite birthday meal. It was always and still is the same, leg of lamb, oven brown potatoes and gravy, beans with mushroom soup followed by a rich fudgy chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate chip mint (the green kind!!!) ice cream.

Have a look and try some of my favorite recipes:

Snickerdoodle Cookies

Ellen's Apple Crisp

Mexican Seven Layer Dip

Hot Crab Dip
