Emerging Payments Consulting Inc. was founded by Juanita Gonsalves in 2006 after working to shape the Canadian payments landscape for more than two decades with a major financial institution and an acquirer.
Her experience ranges from pioneering Interac Direct Payment, to guiding the development and implementation of many POS and payment system firsts in Canada which include short range wireless terminals, integrated POS, U.S. Dollar Payment & Settlement System, and “Verified-by-Visa” enabled e-commerce products. She has lead teams working with MasterCard to launch the first “Paypass” pilot in Canada, and with Interac to launch “Interac Online, and has designed EMV based applications for various form factors (i.e. card, mobile, cloud).
