Wilfred L. T. Fletcher

1929-2012

Mr. Wilfred (Woody) L. T. Fletcher of White Head Island, NB passed away at the Grand Manan Hospital on November 8, 2012.  He was born of the late Leroy and Gertrude (Lank) Fletcher on Campobello Island.  In his younger years Woody made his way to the fishing grounds off of White Head Island where he made his home after meeting his wife Barbara.  Providing for his family was first and fishing was his calling in life and he made it his passion, spending many years on the sea earning a living in the lobster, herring, and scallop fishery with his son Teddy by his side.  He was a faithful member of the White Head Baptist Church and a neighbor to many on White Head Island.  He is survived by his wife of 61 years Mrs. Barbara (Banks) Fletcher of White Head.  His three daughters; Elizabeth Fletcher of White Head, Carol Ann (Anthony) Outhouse of Grand Harbour, and Colleen (Murray) Perrin of Saskatchewan.  His one son Theodore (Sandra) Fletcher of White Head Island.  Two brothers Sheldon Fletcher of Campobello NB, and Edward Fletcher of Lubec ME, USA.  Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.  Many nieces and nephews.

Visiting will take place at the White Head Baptist Church on Saturday from 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place from the church on Sunday November 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating.  The interment will follow at the White Head Community Cemetery. Woody’s family has requested donations may be made to the White Head Community Cemetery, White Head Baptist Church, or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 Route #776, Grand Manan, N.B.
