Vehicle eligibility Criteria:

  1. Vehicle must be in running condition (start, move and without missing parts)
  2. Proof of Ownership
  3. Minimum of 3 months Insurance

You will need the following information to fill in the Cash for Clunkers program online form

  1. Vehicle Acquisition method: ARC Pickup at a Dealership or Dealership drop-off at an Authorized ARC Recycler.
  2. Vehicle Information: VIN, Make, Model, Year & Colour.
  3. Dealer Business Name & complete address; (street, city, province & postal code).
  4. Dealer Contact Person Information: Name, Telephone #, & email address. Fax # is optional.

How to initiate the vehicle recycling process:

  1. Go to: gm.elvmanagement.ca.
  2. Select language of preference: English or French
  3. Complete the Vehicle retirement form as follows:
    1. Unique Order # automatically populates.
    2. Select ARC Vehicle Acquisition method from drop down menu (Pick up at Dealership set to the default)
    3. Enter all fields of the Vehicle information: VIN, Make, Model, Year, & Colour.
      Make and Year: Select from list provided (drop-down menu).
      Model, VIN & Colour: Requires a mandatory manual entry.
    4. Enter all fields of the Dealer Contact person information (Fax # is optional)
    5. Additional Information field optional.
      add customer name in this field to assist in the location of the customer file and vehicle for pickup.
    6. Please review information for accuracy and ensure all fields are filled in.
    7. Click on Submit.
    8. Message will advise as to the successful submission of your vehicle form.
    9. Print completed form for your records.
    10. Prompt will appear to submit additional vehicles, resetting form to a blank status.
  4. ARC Service Standards (refer to Service Standards page for additional details).
    1. Upon Receipt of form (information is complete and accurate), the vehicle will be allocated to an authorized recycler within one (1) business day.
    2. The authorized ARC Recycler will contact the Dealer Contact person to make arrangements to remove the vehicle within two (2) business days of the allocation.
  5. Pickup and Drop off instructions:
    1. Pickup: All vehicles will be picked up at a Dealership. The Recycler will arrive with two (2) printed copies of the Vehicle Acquisition Receipt. The Recycler will sign (and print name) the Dealer Copy for Dealer records (include in the deal jacket). Please sign and print name on the Recycler copy for ARC records.
    2. Drop-off: For Dealers wishing to drop off vehicles at an authorized Recycler, please select the drop-off option on the form, and contact the ARC Call Centre for further instructions. The Recycler will have the two (2) printed copies of the Vehicle Acquisition Receipt ready for signatures. Same signature requirements as in the Pickup apply.
