John Taylor Pic John Taylor C-SJJT Chief Pilot 7 yrs and Past-Chairman I reside in Quispamsis and am retired after 37 years with (NBTel) Aliant. My other interests include woodworking and playing drums in a Pipe Band in Saint John. I enjoyed serving as Chief Pilot for 7 years and have created some lasting friendships with other members. Favorite Aircraft: Level D 767 and the Boeing 737NG. I currently serve as Web Master for our site.
Bev Penny Pic Bev Penny C-SJBP Chief Pilot I am married to a very patient man who lets me take on these various, most interesting hobbies. I have lived in Saint John all my life. I was in Army Reserves with No 6 Militia Group and RCASC for approximately 10 years. I worked for almost 20 years at Centracare (formerly the old Provincial Hospital). I am now retired and enjoy my computer, bowling, darts and gaming all of which have allowed me to meet a lot of wonderful people and make a lot of new friends. Look forward to meeting some more through my new hobby.
Berd Lorber Pic Bernd Lorber C-SJBL Virtual Pilot My interest in flight began when I was 10 years old. I went to an Airshow in Graz Austria and have been interested in flying ever since. I found it difficult to afford flying lessons and the dream got put on hold until years later living in Canada I was invited to fly with a friend from Maine who had a Citavia converted stunt Plane. Once up in the air he let me fly from Brewer to St Stephen not landing the plane. What a thrill and again it sparked my urge to fly again. Two years ago my wife bought me a flight simulator package and I am hooked for life. I am flying nearly everyday and learn new things and mostly what is important to me are my flying Buddies having lots of fun and teaching one another. Plus, as my Wife tells her friends "I know where he is now that he is retired".
Bruce Hurst Pic Bruce Hurst C-SJBH Former Pilot Started working for CPT (Canadian Pacific Telecommunications) in Halifax in 1969 where I learned how to fly a 2 seater Cessna 150 in Shearwater, $13/h for the plane and $5/h for the instructor. Moved to Moncton for a year and then to Rothesay. Switched to sailing and still have a boat at RYC (Rothesay Yacht Club). My company changed names a few times CPT, CNCP, Unitel, AT&T Canada, Allstream. Retired in 2004. Currently active in CCGA (Canadian Coast Guard Auxillary) and Crime Stoppers.
Alvin Romikat Pic Alvin Romikat C-SJAR Virtual Pilot I currently live in Morrisdale, N.B. I moved with my family from Ontario to Iqaluit, Nunavut, (Frobisher Bay N.W.T.) in 1973 where I apprenticed as an Industrial Electrician with the N.W.T. Department of Public Works, and also served as a volunteer firefighter for 7 years. I moved to New Brunswick in 1981 which is where my wife is from. I worked with the Federal Dept. of Public Works at the Saint John Post Office before accepting a job with NBPower in 1982 where I have been employed for the past 28 years. I have been a flightsimmer for 12 years, started flying on line in 2009 and enjoy the hobby and the people I have met very much.
Rolf Spangenberg Rolf Spangenberg C-SJRS Past Chairman Rolf was the first Chairman of the Board for FSNB. He was born in Northern Germany and has lived in Canada, both in Montreal and for the last 30 some years in the Saint John area, making him almost a native. He is in the insurance business. He has and continues to travel extensively regionally, nationally and internationally and enjoys flying to get to a destination. When he first installed the software, his family wondered aloud whether this was a fore runner to learning how to actually fly. This was of course denied .... somewhat.
Mike Partridge Pic Mike partridge C-SJMP Virtual Pilot My interest and experience with Flight Sims goes back to the early 1980's, I was selling office equipment and when we expanded our lineup to computers the first demo systems included a copy of MS Flight Simulator 1.0a (the green coil book with the 5.25" floppy). I fired it up and have been hooked ever since...I am a network Administrator now and also administrator for a large Flight Simulator Message Board (www.sim-outhouse.com) and a few Hard of hearing Message boards. My computer and Flight Sim experience spans over 25 years and I have quite a collection of Sim programs and related accessories, and I think I have successfully crashed just about anything that can take off.
