Anita was born, raised and educated in the South of England, and came to Canada in 1990. She was introduced to a career of funeral directing early. Her first cousin owns and operates a funeral home in Warwickshire, England. (The D.B. Devall Funeral Home).
After graduating with honours from the Humber College Funeral Service Education Program in 1996, Anita completed her apprenticeship in London, Ontario and became a fully licensed Funeral Director in 1997.
Since then Anita has worked as a funeral director in corporate and family owned funeral homes. Her special focus has become the pre-planning of funerals. She has a natural ability to gently communicate and understand her client’s needs to help them make their funeral pre-arrangements.
Anita’s professional activities include conducting seminars within organizations and making presentations to church groups. She has worked with financial planners and lawyers to help with their client’s estate planning needs.
The Ogden Funeral Home of Toronto, is Anita’s place of employment, where she has worked in the pre-planning department since 2003. There she has assisted in developing Ogden’s aftercare service providing the families with estate administration and government benefits counseling.
Located in a very diverse community, Anita has gained experience at the Ogden Funeral Home in working with people from many different cultures. Enabling her to respond with sensitivity to the requirements of representative religious groups.
Anita enjoys spending time with friends, practicing yoga, volunteering as a Big Sister with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Toronto, reading and traveling.
