I have been a resident of Greater Victoria for over twenty-five years, and a resident of Fernwood for over 18 years. My formal involvement in the community has up until recently limited because of commitments to my employment.

Fernwood Pole Painting

 I have studied engineering, mathematics and computer science. I was employed as a drafter/designer of mechanical systems for buildings and have experience with the challenges of the design process, and familiarity with mechanical systems.

When I was in Edmonton attending the University of Alberta I was a volunteer with University radio Station, CJSR-FM, and served on the Board of Directors of First Alberta Campus Radio Association (FACRA), its owner, and "The Friends of CJSR Society", its non-profit fundraising society. I learned much, and helped to promote the station, participated in fundraising, hiring committees, budget meetings, and helped to draft job descriptions for the executive to ensure continuity to beyond the personalities  of the executive. I learned the commitment required of volunteers and board members and was subsequently reluctant to commit to activities I could not consistently dedicate time to.

In January of this 2014 I joined the Cyclist Response Team, one of Victoria Emergency Management Agency's many volunteer teams dedicated to preparing for best outcomes in the event of a major seismic event or other calamitous occurrences. 

I have also painted seven hydro poles in my Fernwood neighborhood as part of the "Fernwood Pole Painting" in the past 9 years on  Fernwood Road near Yates Street.

I  appeared before 2 select standing committees of the legislative assembly in 2001 to present my ideas, and appeared before the House of Commons Finance Committee (FINA) when they held hearings in Victoria, December 3, 2007. Committee Evidence
