Gordon has an extensive academic background which has equipped him for the work of evangelism. He is a graduate of Western Pentecostal Bible College, Abbotsford, BC., (1968), Northwest Baptist Theological College, Langley, BC., (1972), Douglas Community College, New Westminster, BC, 1976, Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC., 1977 (PDP), Regent Graduate School of Theology, Vancouver, BC., 2005 (Diploma in Christian Studies), and 2007 (Master of Divinity Degree).
During 1977-1981 Gordon was a public school teacher for School District #72, (Campbell River), and since 1981 he has operated a commercial printing firm, Press Time Publications, through which he serviced over six hundred clients. Gordon has been Pastor at Harvest Christian Fellowship since February 1st, 2007. Through his ministry among this congregation there has been a marked increase in attendance, and great spiritual growth. God's 'mark' of blessing upon this church has been seen in one baptism, and a keen awareness of body ministry through sharing and cooperative team ministry.
Gordon is a visionary who expects God to give great increase in the next months as the Holy Spirit is given freedom to do of His good pleasure both within and beyond the sanctuary, as the Gospel is faithfully taken to the community at large.
John Williams unquestionably loves the Lord and has been devoted to passionately declaring the good works of Christ since being born again twenty-nine years ago. His salvation experience came through the reading of two gospel tracts which were given to him. Through these articles he came to an understanding that he needed to go beyond himself to find peace and fulfillment in life. He states, "I remember the exact spot in the church I received Christ as Savior". He continues by saying, "This year I visited that church, and I relived that experience afresh and it felt as if it were yesterday I came to know Christ as Savior and Lord."
Previously to coming to Harvest as Teaching/Preaching Pastor, John, with his wife, Le-anna, directed Go Tell Puppet Ministries while doing Five Day Clubs with Child Evangelism throughout British Columbia. During the last two years John has been attending Summit Pacific College taking the two year Leadership Training Course in which he is developing Adult Ministry gifts God has given him. John is committed to prayer as the key factor for spiritual maturity among believers which we find as a real asset to spiritual formation at this time.
John works with Gordon as co-Pastor of Harvest Church, and the congregation appreciates his ministry immensely. Both pastors recognize their call by God to be the Under Shepherds of this fellowship, and serve God's people unwaveringly.
