Qualifications

Meredith is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) as designated by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and is also a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and Psychology Today.  She holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in Clinical Practice from McMaster University and a combined Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) and Bachelor of Social Work (BA/BSW) degree, also from McMaster University.  Meredith has also earned an Addiction Care Worker diploma, as well as a certification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.  She has also completed MAST (Mindful Awareness Stabilization Training), Introduction to Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples Training, TEACH (Training Enhancement in Applied Cessation Counselling and Health for the Cessation, Protection, Prevent and Evaluation of Tobacco Use Disorders), and Critical Incident Stress Management debriefing training.

Meredith has almost 25 years of experience working in the field of Social Services.  She currently specializes in individual counselling & psychotherapy in the following areas:

•Addiction (e.g., dependence or abuse of illicit drugs, prescription medication, alcohol, tobacco, gambling and/or eating disorders)

•Anger/Emotions Management (e.g., feelings of anger, frustration, anxiety, low mood, stress, loneliness, grief & loss, etc.)

•Relationship (e.g., conflict, communication, trust, intimacy, codependency, abuse, separation/divorce, etc. involving a past or current intimate partner and/or other family member)
