Almost all "door to door" aerating companies use what is called a rolling tine aerator. They are fast but do not do the same job as a golf course quality reciprocating tine aerator does. This type of aerator has tines that move up and down punching holes in the lawn and extracting cores of soil even in the hardest clay. It takes us twice as long, but you end up with a lawn with twice as many holes and better penetration in hard soils than any other type of aerator on the market.
