Biography I have been teaching piano in Winnipeg since 1978. My credentials include an Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Piano Performance, a Bachelor of Arts in Music from The University of Winnipeg, and a Master in Piano Performance degree from McGill University in Montreal where I studied with Charles Reiner. As a Senior Examiner for The Royal Conservatory Examinations I examine in various parts of Canada two or three times a year. I also adjudicated music festivals across Canada for twenty years as a member of the Canadian Music Festival Adjudicators Association. My professional performances have taken me across Canada, Mexico and the United States both as a solo pianist and chamber musician; some of these concerts have been broadcast by CBC Radio Manitoba. Students from my studio have received a total of $31,150 in scholarships and awards from the Manitoba Registered Music Teachers Association (of which I am a member), and a number have gone on to receive university entrance scholarships to study music. I am also an RCM "Gold Medal teacher"; to date my students have received medals for earning the year's highest mark in Manitoba for their Royal Conservatory piano examinations 35 times for grades ranging from grade one to ARCT. I am also active in Winnipeg's music community. Following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York, I organized a fundraising concert at Eckhardt-Grammaté Hall - "Musicians for Manhattan." Many prominent Winnipeg artists responded to my appeal to donate their services for this event which raised several thousand dollars for the Red Cross Relief effort. Later that year, I was honoured to receive an award from the Manitoba Red Cross presented by then Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, Peter Liba in recognition of this project.
