Kadans - 1992 Stallion approved with KWPN, CSHA, NAWPN
Kadans
competed internationally at Grand Prix level with Canadian rider Tom Dvorak
until the fall of 2004 when he returned to Horizon Equestrian in Alberta
Canada. He is a powerful horse with an excellent temperament and has produced
many top offspring.
Kadans has been evaluated by Dr. Mikael Holmstrom, the Vet. / Researcher
from Sweden who has developed a computer system to analyze horse conformation
to determine elite prospects in both dressage and jumping. Kadans scored
8.32 in both dressage and jumping. This is a very high score, noting that
any horse of international caliber and success has scored at least an
8.
Imported from dressage trainer Bert Rutten of Holland in 1993 at the
age of 17 months, Kadans is by the Dutch Warmblood Stallion El Corona,
who also sired the 1999 Pan Am Dressage Silver Medalist Korona, owned
and ridden by Shannon Oldham-Dueck.
"Not only is Kadans attractive, he is a very talented and willing
horse to work with. The good quality of his canter made flying changes
very easy for him to learn and he has shown a natural ability for Piaffe
and Passage. Kadans has been a very consistent and successful competitor
to date and we think he has a great future." Tom Dvorak
"Kadans is the ideal sport horse stallion. The top Dutch bloodiness
of both jumper and dressage horses are in Kadans' lineage. His sire, El
Corona, has produced several approved stallions and mares in Holland.
Kadans has the size and athletic ability to sire top quality performance
horses in any discipline. " Betty Briggs
El Corona (1986 – 1992)
El
Corona can be seen in this video at the age of 3 years old during the
stallion test in June 1989. He is the last born son of Amor who was a
preferent stallion. El Corona stood at stud very few years due to an accident
which killed him in March 1992.
Nevertheless El Corona is the sire of many international dressage horses
and in the 1997 the WBFSH was listed number 1 on the dressage index with
a 198 and 79% reliability. El Corona sired the 1999 Pan Am Dressage Silver
Medalist, Korona, owned and ridden by Shannon Oldham-Dueck.
Amor (1959 – 1990)
The
preferent stallion Amor is 29 years "young" in this video. After
fund-raising among the Dutch breeders a statue of Amor was erected in
1989 near to the stallion station of his owner Johan Venderbosch in Varsseveld.
In the 1997 the WBFSH (World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses) ranking
of dam sires of international sporthorses Amor was the only stallion in
the world which was listed as the top sire of international dressage horses
as well as international jumpers.
Farmer
Farmer was the Reserve Champion of his stallion testing. He was described
as a very talented dressage horse and fairly talented as a showjumper.
His owners pursued a show jumping career where he has done remarkably
well with limited showing.
Voltaire keur pref (1979 - 2004)
Voltaire
was really the first of the super star performance stallions to go on
and prove himself equally as important as a breeding stallion. In the
competition arena, he won at the highest level, winning Nations Cup classes
at Calgary, Stockholm, s’Hertogenbosch, Lanaken, Helsinki, Wiesbaden
and Wembley. In 1989 he won the Grand Prix of Berlin.
After a sensational performance career, Voltaire stood at Jan Greve’s
picturesque stud De Watermolen where he started to prove that his explosive
mix of the best of the French and the best of the German jumping lines,
could weave a special magic.
Voltaire was represented by a staggering 28 jumpers in the WBFSH standings
for 2000/2001 - and is ranked 9th in the top 50 sires in the ten years
from 1991 to 2000.
Telstar 1977
Telstar
is by the famous stallion Nimmerdor and he is known as an improvement
stallion who continues to produce exceptional hunters, jumpers and dressage
horses. Telstar was ranked seventh in North America for producing dressage
horses.
The Dutch Jury described Telstar's offspring as "exceptional
type...all the things we want to see in a modern sporthorse..."
