Algonquin Provincial Park is Canada's oldest
established provincial park spanning 7725 km2.
Canadian's and travellers frequent the park for
its internationally renowned scope of biodiversity.
In Algonquin's centennial year Parks Ontario
invested in an interpretive research facility
for the preservation of Algonquin's natural
and human history. Our function included
generating a complete thematic exhibitry
plan before addressing the aspirations of
architectural facade. In addition to initial
conceptual mastery of space we collaborated
closely with all trades, naturalists, researchers,
architects, civic leaders to final construction
documentation.
The centre a "Window to the Park" depicts
the variety Algonquin's complex natural and
human history through a thematic path of
exhibits, dioramas, theatre, visual art and
observation decks.
