Dr. Chris Burnett

Dr Chris is one of the founding physicians of the Niverville Medical Clinic.
He graduated from Dundee University in Scotland in 1981. After some specialization in surgery, he worked with his wife in Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as in Albania. Following a short time back in the UK, they moved to rural Manitoba in 1997. Initially working in Boissevain, then as VP medical for Assiniboine RHA before assuming a post with Manitoba health in 2004. He moved in 2005 to Niverville, to start the NMC, with his wife and 3 boys.
He has interests in Diabetes, Travel Health and asthma. Although enjoying his mix of administration with clinical medicine, he recently resigned his position at Manitoba Health and Healthy Living to concentrate on his clinical duties. This will enable him to also return to some in-patient hospital work.
                         
                   
    Dr. Mairi Burnett

Dr Mairi is one of the founding physicians of the Niverville Medical Clinic. She combines a busy practice with regular on call responsibilities at the local Hospital In St Pierre and her busy family.
She graduated from Dundee University in Scotland in 1981. After some specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology, she worked with her husband in Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as well as in Albania. Following a short time back in the UK, she moved with her husband and family of rural Manitoba in 1997. Initially working in Boissevain , where she was responsible for starting a very successful women’s health project in that region, she then moved to Niverville in 2005, to start the NMC.
Dr Mairi is happy to look after all types of family medicine but has special interests in reproductive and women’s health.
     
                     
   

Dr. Athel Ali

Dr. Ali joined NMC in May, 2010. She previously had a practice in Morden, Manitoba since 2008. Dr. Ali has a M.B.Ch.B degree in medicine and general surgery and is experienced in Family Medicine for more than 15 years. Dr. Ali had 3 years training in Family Medicine after graduation, 2 years in the Middle East and one year at university of Manitoba. She received various training in different fields of family medicine internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, general surgery, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, and infectious medicine.
After coming to Canada, Dr. Ali did clinical attachment in Markham-Stouffville hospital, Ajax hospital and Toronto General Hospital. Dr. Ali has been a member of the medical council of Canada since 2006.
Dr. Ali enjoys all types of family medicine, but has a special interest in women’s health and pediatrics.
