Under the Open Data initiative, the city of Ottawa has made its data available to the public, and there was an obviously need to have that data available on mobile devices; quite often people look for events when they are on the go and don't have instant access to a computer. Having a custom built app for your Android phone makes finding events much easier by integrating the basic functiongs of the phone such as GPS, and Google Maps.
