Are the sizes posted the only sizes of portraits you offer?

Any artwork created by me can be made available in other sizes. Please contact me for further details as to how best create your perfectly sized pet portrait!

How do I get my photos to you?

By looking through your photographs we will come to a decision as to how to capture the essence of your pet in the portrait. Photos can be posted or emailed to me. All of your cherished photographs will be returned safely to you.

How many pictures do you require?

Please provide as many photographs that best serve as reference to your pet's colour, shape, close-up details and personality. Items such as halters, collars etc. can be easily omitted. Any additional images that best represent the features you wish to highlight are encouraged. It is certainly better to have too many rather than too few photographs to base upon your pet portrait. Reminder: any images sent to me that was professionally done must have copyright permission release from the original photographer.

How will I know if my photos are right for the portrait?

Any details of the final pet portrait are directly related to my receiving good quality, focussed photographs. If you are unsure of the quality of the image, please do not hesitate to call or email me.

How should I go about taking the pictures?

Please review the section on my website "Photography Tips" as to how to provide the best photos of your cherished dog, cat, bird etc.

How can I get a good shot of my pet?

Capture a great photo by getting down to your pet's eye level. Treats work wonderfully as a tool to make them pay attention to you and the camera. Best to have a partner who works with you in order to capture your pet's awesome and handsome personality!

What size image do you require?

Generally, one photo is the main image I work from for your pet portrait. Preferably, the photo should be in jpeg format if sent to me via email. Try to not resize the image from its original size from the digital camera. The best image is the photo at the same size taken by your digital camera. It retains a sharper detail in order to best highlight your pet's personal features. You may send other photos (again not resized, if possible) which reflects your pet's true colour, background etc. Any photos sent by mail should be sent in its original size. Please indicate the image you wish to see reflected in your pet portrait.

Can I use a picture I've taken from my cell phone?

Due to the technical progression of most cell phones, images from these devices may be useable. Images are best if they are clear, eye-level and close-up to your pet. The crisper the details highlighted of your pet the better the pet portrait.

What sort of framing options do you have?

When the portrait is completed, framing is NOT provided but can be arranged through a local art framing store. Framing is an additional expense taken upon the client. All my artwork must be framed under glass after completion in order to ensure a long life. The framing should be done within a short span to avoid any pastels smudging or smearing. Portraits drawn by me are made with the highest quality pencils and paper. It promises to provide a lifetime of accurate quality and colour. Framing your cherished pet portrait will guarantee a lifetime of happy memories!

How much does it cost to have my portrait framed?

Framing costs are contingent upon a variety of factors e.g. Size of portrait, size and number of mats used, type of frame (wood, metal). I will ensure that if you request for framing to be provided we will discuss any and all factors prior to ordering. If you wish to have another supplier to mount and frame your pet portrait that is entirely understandable. Any further questions can be answered directly via email or by phone.

What style of frames do you use?

Most style of frames I have used in the past has been metal. The framing company I have used has a plethora of textures and styles available. However, simple black or brown metal or wood is readily available to you.

How quickly can I expect to have my portrait completed?

Turnaround time depends heavily on the number of portraits I am currently working on. A larger sized portrait or a portrait with intricate subjects may require 2 months or more to process. Upon receiving a down payment on your pet portrait and reviewing your photos will I be able to proceed. I will inform you a completion date at that point.

Do you do rush orders?

If you have a special date in mind, please let me know and if possible, I will try to get the portrait to you in time. Purchase a Gift Certificate if you have a short deadline.

How many portrait orders do you work on at a time?

Depending upon the season, I can work on two pet portraits at a given time. I prefer to create your artwork to the best of my ability. By limiting how many portraits I work upon; I then can guarantee your satisfaction with your photorealistic pet portrait. Your happiness in the finished pet portrait is my goal!
