Clayton Valley Project

Click here for the complete Technical Report on the Clayton Valley Lithium Property, Esmeralda County, Nevada, USA.

Highlights

  • Clayton Valley is the only known lithium brine source in North America
  • Rodinia controls >70,000 acres in the ONLY known lithium bearing brine deposit in North America
    • Surround the only producer: Chemetall (Rockwood Holdings subsidiary)
    • Chemetall has been producing for over 40 years at a rate of 2,000-5,000 LCE tonnes per year
  • Clayton Valley known to contain at least 5 lithium-rich aquifers
    • Grades ranging from 180 to 420 ppm lithium
    • Leading magnesium levels at approximately 1:1 Mg:Li
  • Power line and main road infrastructure already in place

Project Description and Location
Clayton Valley is located in the central portion of Esmeralda County, Nevada, United States of America, approximately 70km west of Goldfield, the county seat, and approximately 55km southwest of Tonopah, the largest nearby town; approximately half-way between Reno and Las Vegas.

The property consists of 72,340 acres comprising 1,012 claims on BLM (Bureau Land Management) administered land. This includes 470 claims which were recently staked in the south eastern portion of the property for purposes of ensuring sole ownership in the valley.

Work Programs

Rodinias current leadership team inherited some historical work at Clayton Valley, and commenced its initial exploration work in 2009. By the summer of 2010, the Company had completed a detailed gravity survey over its entire land holding and had drilled 6 reverse circulation drill holes strategically across the deposit, collecting data that included lithology, specific gravity, reverse circulation return flow rates, temperature and other field measurements. Additionally, downhole geophysical logging (porosity and density), sediment and brine sampling was conducted at regular intervals where possible. The results were deemed positive, having interested 370 mg/L lithium over 30 metres on the southern trend in Drill Hole SPD-09. It is believed that this intersection coincides with the aquifer that Chemetall is currently producing from on the neighboring property.

Rodinia is currently in the process of permitting its third exploration drill program for Clayton Valley. The program calls for up to seventy-two reverse circulation drill holes targeting extensions of the known Silver Peak aquifers.
