Application Checklist

We suggest you use the following checklist as a memory aid when completing your application.

If documents, other than your passport, are not available at the time you submit the application you  may submit them later via the following link: ADD DOCUMENTS. 

Part 1: INITIAL APPLICATION TO SAR-EL CANADA

    1. Scan and save the picture page of your passport **
    2. Print the blank Medical Certificate
    3. Have your doctor fill in and sign the Medical Certification
    4. Scan and save the completed & signed Medical Certificate*
    5. Scan and save your proof of Medical insurance*
    6. Scan and save your Letter of Reference (FIRST TIME VOLUNTEERS ONLY )
    7. Start the online application
    8. Read the application procedure carefully!
    9. Submit your passport where requested (Mandatory to submit the application)
    10. Submit the medical certificate signed by your doctor and yourself *
    11. Submit Proof of Medical Insurance *
    12. Complete the online Application program (Steps 1 to 10 which includes accepting the agreements) and SUBMIT the available documents
    13. FIRST TIME VOLUNTEERS ONLY

      1. Arrange an interview with Toronto or Montreal offices or regional representatives
      2. Submit letter of recommendation*
    14. ALL VOLUNTEERS

      1. Pay the Sar-El Canada registration fee of C$100 by Interac or by check
      2. Receive approval from Sar-El Canada

Part 2: Acceptance by SAR-EL Israel

    1. Receive the Israeli registration Link from Sar-EL Israel
    2. Submit (to Israel) the Sar-El Israel Waiver
    3. Pay the Sar-EL Israel Application fee of US$120 by credit card.
    4. Receive Sar-El Israel acceptance letter (2-4 days)

Part 3: ADDITIONAL ITEMS
After your final approval is received from Israel:

    1. Book airfare to Israel and advise Sar-El Canada of your flight details. Your return flight must be after 10PM on the last Thursday of the program.
    2. Consider Trip Cancellation Insurance
    3. Arrange Accommodation in Israel for weekends
    4. Arrange for an Israeli Sim Card or Cell phone or an Israeli Voice & Data Plan your Canadian cell phone.
    5. One week prior to your start date you will receive your meeting instructions by email from Sar-El Israel.
    6. Consider a Rav Kav card if you’re planning on taking any Public Transportation in Israel
