Aqua Riva

Our friend Steve had a gift certificate for this restaurant.  He missed Andrew’s birthday and he was a few days away from a month-long trip to England and India.  We met up and Steve and I chose from the Dine Out menu while Andrew ordered a la carte.  He ordered the sautéed arugula for an appetizer.  When our appetizers came, Andrew’s was missing.  After a few minutes, our server came and said they had run out of arugula but offered spinach as a substitute in the dish.  I’m wondering how come someone didn’t come as soon as the order was placed or as soon as they found out the kitchen was out of arugula?  The server joked about the kitchen staff preparing Dine Out menu items and when you throw them an item from the regular menu, they don’t know what to do.

Otherwise, Aqua Riva is a pretty good restaurant.

We got a good table.

The view from our table

We waited 20 minutes at our table, while Steve was sitting a couple of tables over for 10 minutes before he turned around and saw us.

As we sometimes do, we forgot to take a picture of the baby greens with goat cheese croustade salad I had and the other salad Steve had with seared sea scallops.

Saute of Arugula Spinach

Wood Grilled Pork Tenderloin

Seafood linguine

cheesecake (I’ve forgotten the name!)

Apple Rhubarb Crisp
