Roof Restructure/Reinsulate
The crawl space doors on this old farmhouse used to shutter when the wind blew from the right direction. With only woodchip insulation and no vapour barrier, the climate of this home was extremely difficult to manage with warm pockets on one side of the home, and cold pockets on the other. The project consisted of removing the old roof and insulation, and installing new polyurethane spray foam insulation. The roof structure was built up to allow for the construction of new overhangs, and to allow proper circulation of air. This served the function of eliminating ice damming.
