Day
1 Depart Vancouver to Singapore connect in Taipei
with EVA Airways.
Day 2 Arrive Singapore
Arriving Singapore Changi Airport. Meet and transfers
to hotel for check in (Early check in is subject to hotel
room availability). Rest of the day is at your own leisure.
Day 3 Singapore (Breakfast)
After breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to half-day Singapore
city tour in the morning .The City Tour showcases the
contrast between old and new and the blend of East and
West. Experience the history, culture and the lifestyle
of multiracial Singapore, the exciting heart of New Asia-Singapore.
We will drive pass the Colonial district for a view of
Padang, The Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay and The Merlion
- a mythical beast, Singapore's original half lion, half
fish. Next stop, a visit to Little India, Chinatown and
Gem Factory, admire the best of Asian craftsmanship. Last
stop, visit the 52 hectares of primarily jungle and gardens,
the famed Botanic Gardens. Free time for the rest of the
day.
Day 4 Singapore – Tampin - Malacca
(B)
Meet at lobby around 6:30AM. Transfer to the train station
departing before 8AM to Tampin (Time subject to change).
Enjoy the rural scenery as the train passes through villages
and plantations. Arrive Tampin at 1250 hours. Meet your
guide and proceed to Malacca. Tour the historical sites
such as Cheng Hoong Teng temple – the oldest functioning
Chinese temple in
Malaysia, Kapitan Kling Mosque, Jonker’s Street,
Baba and Nyonya Museum, Stadhuy’s Building,
Malacca Clock Tower, Christ Church & the famous Porta
de Santiago.
Day 5 Malacca – Kuala Lumpur (B)
Depart to Kuala Lumpur, en-route visit a typical Malay’s
House and the countryside. Upon arrival, a city tour of
Kuala Lumpur, visit the King’s Palace (photo stop),
National Mosque, Independent Square, Sultan Abdul Samad
Building, Selangor Club (photo shop), St Mary’s
Church and the world’s tallest free standing Flag
Pole.
Day
6 Kuala Lumpur / Fire Flies (B)
Free at leisure in the morning, afternoon proceed to Kuala
Selangor, situated about 90 minutes drive away from Kuala
Lumpur. The quiet hamlet of Kampung Kuantan in Kuala Selangor
has one of the largest firefly colonies in the world.
On arrival, visit ‘Kota Melawati’, formerly
known as ‘Fort Altingsburg’, Royal Mausoleum,
ruined Fort and the legendary 100 steps (a fabled execution
block). The bird park at the foot of Bukit Melawati is
an ideal place for watching migratory birds. After dinner,
highlight of the evening – Firefly watching. You
will be rowed upstream where you can see thousand of fireflies
flickering like Christmas lights in mangrove trees lining
the banks of the river. Drive back Kuala Lumpur around
11PM.

Day 7 Kuala Lumpur – Batu Caves –
Cameron Highlands (B)
After breakfast, we depart to the countryside. A short
stop at the Selangor Pewter factory, then proceed to visit
the Batu Caves, a huge limestone outcrop that houses some
very ornate Hindu temples. Batu Caves are popular places
of worship for the Hindus. Then proceed to Cameron Highlands,
which is 1542 meters above sea level. En route to the
highlands, stop and
visit cottage industry making bamboo baskets and the Lata
Iskandar Waterfall. Upon arrival at the Cameron Highlands,
check in at the hotel. The rest of the day is free at
leisure.
Day 8 Cameron Highlands - Penang (B)
Tour of Cameron Highlands visiting a tea plantation, tea
factory, a vegetable farm and the market square. Then
drive towards Penang. En route visit the Sam Poh Tong
Cave Temple in Ipoh, the Ubudiah Mosque, Iskandariah Palace
and Istana Kenangan Museum. Cross over to Penang, better
known as the “Pearl of the Orient” via one
of the longest bridge in the world & arrive Penang
in the evening.
Day 9 Penang (B)
After breakfast, a half-day “Around Penang”
tour with visits to a batik factory, a nutmeg and clove
stall, the Snake Temple and Wat Chayamangalaram Temple.
The rest of the day is free at your own leisure.
Day 10 Penang – Kota Bharu (B)
Depart at 0830 hours, traveling west to east overland
across Peninsular Malaysia through the main mountain range,
which offers breathtaking views of the dense tropical
rain forest whilst journeying through villages and plantations.
Arrive Kota Bharu in the evening.
Day 11 Kota Bharu – Terangganu
(B)
At 0830 hours, we start the day with a visit to the famous
and colorful wet market of Kota Bharu. Then depart to
Terengganu. Tour continues to Pulau Duyung Besar, the
largest island in the estuary. Stop in Kuala Terengganu
to visit Pulau Duyong, famous for its traditional way
of boat making in the region. Fishing boats are built
here using old techniques and tools. Drive along Chinatown
and visit the colourful Central Market, Princess Hill
with a good view of the
city, drive and passed by Maziah Palace and State Mosque
(photo stop), which is the first floating mosque in Malaysia.
Day 12 Terengganu – Kuantan (B)
Proceed to Kuantan after breakfast, en route visit Cherating.
Stops at local villages to observe the traditional way
of living. Afternoon visit the Cherating village. Cherating’s
main attractions include a trained monkey plucking coconuts
and visiting the cottage industry of mengkuang leaves
being weaved into bags and mats amongst other things.
Check in to hotel. Free at your own leisure.
Day 13 Kuantan – Singapore (B)
Overland to Singapore departs by 0800hrs. Stop on route
at the Royal Town of Pekan where the Sultan resides. Visit
the traditional boat museum. Approximate arrival time
in Singapore is at 1800 hrs (vehicle interchange at the
border).
Day 14 Singapore (B)
After breakfast transfer to the airport for homeward flight.
