TIER Support Services provides Personal Centered Programs for both Community and Employment Support. One-on one assistance/support with realistic goals and outcomes developed with you and your family, friend, or caregiver. All programs are designed to assist you with planning for your independence in the community.

Programs

Employment Support Program

Employment Support programs provide community-based support services to persons with developmental disabilities living in the Central Okanagan interested in becoming employed or requiring supports to maintain employment. Services are available at times and locations that are convenient to the individuals served. The frequency and duration of services varies depending upon the needs of individuals and the stage of services. The specific services offered by the program include:

Employment Preparation

  • Exploring your interests toward realistic employment opportunities
  • Job readiness and work ethic assessment
  • Job club resume, employer interview and marketing
  • Assistance with wage subsidy

Paid Employment

  • Paid employment choices
  • On/off-site job coach assistance
  • Continuing support through your employment journey

EmployAbility

Community Support Program

Community Support programs provide community-based personalized supports to persons with developmental disabilities living in the Central Okanagan. Services are available at times and locations that are convenient to the individuals served. The frequency and duration of services depends upon the individual needs of clients and may be as little a few hours a month or as much as several hours a day. The specific services offered by the program include:

House & Home Support

  • Safety at home
  • Cooking
  • Housekeeping skills

Out in Community Support

  • Safety in the community
  • Shopping
  • Arranging and taking transportation
  • Academic and skill upgrading

Self Management Support

  • Self care
  • Self esteem
  • Problem solving
  • Motivation

Social & Recreational

  • Developing friendships
  • Trying new activities
  • Exploring social opportunities
  • Developing communication skills
