TOP Trinidad and Tobago female cyclist Teniel Campbell ended the La Vuelta Femenina in Spain with an 85th place finish in the final race of the eight-stage contest to place 83rd overall.

Representing the Liv/Alula/Jayco team, Campbell said she was proud of her team’s performance in what she described as, “the first grand tour of the season”.

In a post on Facebook yesterday, Campbell wrote: “First Grand Tour of the season is done and dusted. I am proud of how we stepped up and embraced the challenges as a team!!!”

She said it was “quite a fun tour” despite back-to-back crashes.

A lot of thought and preparation went into Central Sports’ successful Premiership 1 T20 title defence, and president of the club Richard Ramkissoon said even more planning will go into the 2024 season.
