Project Outcome:

Helping inventor’s develop and get their product to market is an interesting process. Word gets around the inventor community and every once in a while I get contacted to participate in a new project. The owner of the EZ-Hanger company had been given my name and from that point on we developed a business relationship.

The product patented invention was a hanger that specifically designed to store children’s clothing in a closet without taking away space for adult clothing. The hanger hook was extended to lower the height of the hanger to a toddler’s reach. This was designed to encourage the child to put away their own clothes as well a leaving the upper area free for adult clothes to be hung. The overall design provided very productive use of closet space in a family household.

The hanger was to be manufactured with a sturdy plastic material and based on research with potential national retailers, it had to be packaged using four colour art, ability to touch and feel the products, see it in actual use and be attractively priced. To meet the price point indicated by the research, it was quickly decided to have the hanger produced in China. An industrial zone specializing in injection mould manufacturing was identified and qualified. A mould was then contracted out and made to enable the production of the hanger.

Additional services provided to the client was the development of the carded packaging, a store display and support collateral. The final product made it successfully to market as it the product was distributed and sold in most major retailers.
