VISA REQUIREMENTS 2019

U.S. passport holders may download full instructions along with visa application samples and partially pre-completed visa applications for voyages and land programs that require visas using the links below. These forms can be completed online and then printed for your original signature before sending them along with your actual passport, the required number of photographs, and payment to our address below.

Please note that there are a number of voyages that require visas that will be obtained en route or on arrival by the line.  These voyages along with those where guests holding U.S. passports have the option of either obtaining visas independently on arrival or in advance of travel are flagged below with footnotes.

Please note that the line recommends that your passport be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the completion of your travel and that you have a minimum of four fully blank visa pages in your passport for each segment on which you are sailing.  We can assist you with the renewal of your passport at the same time your visas are issued or independent of any visa applications.  See relevant links below for instructions and forms.

 If you are not a U.S. citizen please send a brief inquiry to us via email at for specific visa requirements associated with your itinerary. (Please indicate your nationality, voyage and booking number and indicate if you are currently a legal permanent resident of the U.S. and if so in which state you currently reside.)

¹ Electronic Travel Authority required for Australia must be obtained prior to sailing – apply on line at http://www.traveldocs.com/uploads/forms/AustralianPTDSETA.pdf and bring your printed confirmation with you to the ship.

² Visas or permits for the following countries will be obtained on arrival via air OR en route by the cruise line and any charges  for visas obtained by the line will be billed to your shipboard account: Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam, Egypt, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea.

³ Russian visas will be provided on a “blanket” basis by the ship EXCEPT for those passengers who wish to do independent sightseeing outside of the locally scheduled shore excursions offered by the ship who must obtain individual visas in advance of sailing.

⁴ South African immigration REQUIRES that you have a minimum of TWO FACING AND COMPLETELY BLANK visa pages in your passport at the time of entry.  Note that these cannot be the pages reserved for amendments and endorsements at the back of your passport

¹⁰ Guests who intend to overnight in Vietnam or who plan to depard Vietnam for another neighboring country and return to Vietnam will need individual visas for Vietnam in advance of sailing. Please contact PTDS directly for details and current instructions.
