It is with great pleasure that we write a letter of recommendation for Tim Dirks and TD Renovations, who recently completed an extensive renovation of out home at Whistler. Essentially, the renovation involved a complete updating – kitchen, four bathrooms, all flooring, all moldings and casings, all doors including closets, fireplace, staircase and railing and paint.

After interviewing several Whistler contractors for our renovation and generally being somewhat disappointed with their interest in our project and our time line, we were introduced to Tim by our designer, Lynda Trent of Lynda Trent Designs Inc.

Lynda has worked extensively with Tim, and highly recommended him as a conscientious and committed contractor who works hard to make sure his clients are satisfied. We are very pleased to report that Tim turned out to be exactly as represented.

Tim had never done a project at Whistler, and clearly had more than enough work to keep him busy here in Vancouver, but he carefully and methodically scoped out our project over the course of several trips to Whistler – before we had even committed to his services. His interest and attention to detail, before he even had a committed to do the work, made a very positive impression on us.

A key concern for us was the project be completed on a very tight time line, and Tim delivered – at great personal cost in terms of time away from his family and his beloved vacation home in Osoyoos.

Tim was very professional in all aspects of the job, and his follow-up service has been excellent – especially considering that Whistler is a two hour drive from Vancouver. Tim took full responsibility for the work done by all of his trades, and worked on our behalf to ensure that all deficiencies were cleared in a reasonable time.

Tim is a great record keeper and note taker, and took great pride in making sure that the job was done right, and that we were satisfied. And we are. Very satisfied!

Dear Tim,

I would like to extend our thanks to you for a job well done. Please feel free to provide this letter as a reference for any of your prospective clients.

Tim was the general contractor for the complete renovation of our main household bathroom. Tim provided valuable suggestions in the design and logistical stage and continued with advice up to the completion of the project. He was always available by phone or email and responded promptly to all of our queries or questions, no matter how small or picky they were.

Tim was very knowledgeable on all aspects of our project and right from the start he connected with what our goals visions were and provided the resources and direction to get the job done right. Throughout the entire project, Tim's demeanor was always the same - friendly, helpful and always upbeat. He arranged all the sub-contractors and scheduled their arrival and work. During the renovation, Tim had access to our house while we were at work and was given access to our alarm system. The house was always left in immaculate condition and we never had any security concerns whatsoever.

When issues arose with any of the sub-contractors' plans or work, Tim was there to work out the problems and ensure the job was done properly. The materials he recommended were all of excellent quality and the prices were reasonable. His honesty in the job quote was beyond reproach and the costs of the "add-ons" which we asked for as the project was underway, were all presented to us in a very transparent manner. There were no hidden costs or surprises.

Any matters that had to be reworked or changed after completion were done without question. His sub-contractors returned until all issues were satisfactorily dealt with. And by the way, the bathroom is beautiful! I would have no hesitation recommending Tim to anyone planning a renovation and we definitely will be calling on his services for our next project.

Tim has provided both bathroom and kitchen renovations in our home. What impressed us most, over and above the quality work and professionalism of his team of sub-contractors, was the outstanding level of service provided through the entire process.

Our renovation included three bathrooms ( master bedroom ensuite, main bathroom, and powder room ) as well as our primary living space, a large kitchen / family room. Bathroom and kitchen interruptions have the potential to cause significant disruption in any household. The renovations were done in good time, even with our requests for additional work, which were handled without any issue.

We own an Esquires Coffee Franchise in Delta BC. After 10 years we needed a face-lift. We setup a budget had some plans drawn and tendered them out to three companies for quotes. The quotes came back all being more than double our budget. Tim Dirks from TD Renovations sat down with us, learned what we were after with our look and understood our budget concerns. He gave us a quote detailing exactly what and when he would be doing such jobs. His trades' people are fantastic, working well into the night in order to keep the project on time. He had two weeks to complete the job and not only was it completed on time it looks better than I could imagine.
