This page is THE place for old Pure Nard news... our archives if you will. So sit back, relax, and pretend its an old newspaper from the 1890's that you're reading. Cause that would be a lot funnier–and cooler.

Mar 16, '03 Shows Shows Shows... Recording?

Um, so much for not playing any shows... Yeah so we've got a few coming up. Hope to see lots of people out at our Brooklin show this Saturday! It should be fun, just us and DALi. In recording news, we've started on the six songs, but we've still got to go back for at least one more session, so don't be expecting the CD in the next while. These things take time!

Feb 17, '03 Recording in March

Well, at the end of this month, we're going to be heading in to Veska Studios in Burlington to start recording for an upcoming EP. As a result, besides our one show in Brooklin sometime March, we won't be playing a lot of shows in the near future. Also, school is getting crazy again. Wait... Again? Oh yeah, it never stopped being crazy. Stupid school. Stupid drive to achieve. Why can't we all just live in the woods and talk about different types of bark? Maybe Iraq would be be our friends then...

Feb 16, '03 Happy V.Day and the Nobody Special CD Release

Thanks to everyone who came out to the show on Saturday (the 15th), it was a lot of fun, even though 3 out of 4 of us stayed up all night the night before and were pretty much dead. (Thanks, Büssen.) I at least was pleasantly surprised at the show, not having heard 3 of the bands before. Monotonous Day was very good, and then Running with Scissors and Mr. Bidet were both very tight–good to see some new local talent out. ...And of course Nobody Special sold out of their brand new CD, which is good since there's NO way they're getting the safety deposit back for the hall. One hole in the wall, four broken tables, and two messes of vomit spell $100 we're afraid. Guess that's what happens when kids drink too much.

Jan 30, '03 Sorry for the Downtime!

Our apologies for the website being down for the last week or so... It was just that Robin Brett forgot to renew our domain name license, so Adam had to fax his credit card to Turkey which he didn't really want to do. Oh well, the ordeal is over, and we're back online! So yeah, everyone come out and support us at the Nobody Special CD release on Fri, Jan 15!

Jan 5, '03 A Late Merry Christmas and Dave's MP3!

We would like to wish you all a belated merry Christmas, as well as a belated jovial new year. But more importantly, Davey Von Stone has a Christmas MP3 up! You can pick it up at his mp3.com page. Our beloved roadie/sometime cover artist Dave recorded the song for the Chunk Rok Records 2002 Christmas compilation.

Jan 4, '03 Seaforth show... good times.

People from Seaforth kept saying how boring their town is, but we sure had fun! Our friends in Dali had their rockin' debut show, and Straight Edge was awesome as usual. Many thanks to Jon Warner and the crew that put that all together, and everyone that came out!

Dec 26, '02 Band links page is up!

Under "Propaganda" we've got a link to our "band/music links" page, where various bands we've come into contact with are listed. Click here to go there now and check out some rockin' bands!

Dec 11, '02 Tis the Season...for Exams

Well, Adam and Jon are done exams, but Jared and Mike's exams are postponed due to their school, Tyndale College, getting infected with the highly contagious Norwalk virus. Sorry for the lack of updates, but schools been COOKIN busy the last while.

Here's a photo of the band (including the ineffable Davey VonStone) from the Mt. Forest show at the Roxy. Backstage is the place to be...

Kitchener Show got cancelled... Sorry folks!

Sorry to anyone who was going to come out to the Kitchener show... the venue gimped out on the organizers at the last minute. That's the high school system for you! Oh well, they are owned by the gub'ment, after all.

Nov 12, '02 New Site finished!

Hey everyone! Thanks for coming by our new site. We'll be adding more stuff as we get it in, so make sure you A) Sign up for the Newsletter, and B) Come back frequently. We're going to start playing some more shows as time moves on and we put the finishing touches on some new songs.

Nov 12, '02 "Snow Show" and "the Roxy experience"

Props to everyone who was at the "Operation Nightmare" show! It really was a nightmare trying to play amid all that snow... It was still a fun time though, and no permanent damage was done to our equipment. Also, the Straight Edge CD release at the Roxy went well. Rock on SE and P.Country!

Oct 1, '02 Jimmy Eat World

A bunch of us went to the Jimmy Eat World concert in Hamilton on July 30th, and we thought some of you might get a kick out of seeing this picture of us with Jimmy's guitarist, Tom Linton. But where is Jared?

Left to Right: Jon, Mike, Tom (famous), Mark W., and Adam

Sep 2, '02 Back to School

The whole band's back in school for the fall, but now all of us are in "post-secondary education". Adam is at Heritage College in Cambridge, Mike and Jared at Tyndale College in Toronto, and Jonny's at Fanshawe College in London. As a Hebrew wise man said long ago, "Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body."

May 20, '02 Hey, Mom... I'm on TV!

Our frontman, Adam "Ya Big Goof" King, made two appearances on "the Nirv" TV show discussion panel. One for a talk on war and peace, and the other on Christian worship. The episodes are often re-aired @ 11:30am Sat. and 11:30pm Mon. on CTS (Rogers cable 23).
