The Will's Way Fund is established to support Pine River Institute, a pioneering Residential Treatment Facility for youth from 13 to 19 years old, located in Shelburne, Ontario. The Annual Evaluation Report on the Pine River Institute website highlights the noteworthy success of the treatment for the youth and their families.
As you know from reading Will's story, our family could not find appropriate care and support for Will or for ourselves. We struggled alone, bravely. We needed help. We needed a supportive community of people, who truly cared about Will and us. We needed trained people, who knew what they were doing.
We have lost a fine son, our Will, never to be replaced.
Yet, when visiting Pine River Institute, I was overjoyed to have found Will's place, a community that would have helped him re-engage with his education, given him the skills to handle distress and emotional crisis, provided community and a sound daily program of exercise and nutrition. Pine River is Will's Way: kind, intelligent people, who truly care.
