Rainscreen Wall Assemblies

The rain-screen wall system is the accepted logical solution for wall durability in the very wet climate of the West Coast of British Columbia. The rain-screen solution includes improving a traditional "concealed barrier" or "face sealed" wall system to provide a cavity and flashing detailing behind the cladding material that as well as primary water deflection encourages drainage and drying and is constructed of durable materials. For a more thorough discussion of better wall systems using rain-screen technology check our discussion of better walls by clicking here.

For the entire history of our Company we have been installing rain-screen wall cladding assemblies. However, rain-screen (or cavity wall) cladding detailing is much more than just installing a gap behind the siding or stucco. The critical components are the care and detail to the moisture barriers, flashing, and interfaces with wall penetrations (windows/doors, railings, services, etc.). The tradespeople at Wismer & Mathieson Projects Ltd. ensure that the complete rainscreen concept is thoroughly constructed on all of our projects.
