Welcome to the OLC 4O Area!

The Grade 12 Ontario Literacy Course is designed for students who were unsuccessful with the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test, which is a requirement for graduation. In this course students become familiar with the different components of the literacy test including writing news reports, creating summaries, writing a series of paragraphs expressing an opinion and writing information paragraphs. In addition, the course covers the reading components also required by the Literacy Test. In return, students successful in the course receive both a grade 12 credit and their Literacy Test requirement.

The fact is, Literacy is a requirement for graduation so taking this course seriously is important. The Ontario Ministry of Education is very specific on what needs to be covered in the course and what needs to be done to pass it so use the resources on this website to make life easier!
