I would just like to thank you for an amazing experience. The Peach Classic was very well prepared and organised. All of the marshals were very encouraging. Please thank all of those who volunteered to make my first Peach Classic such a great experience, you will certainly see me again next year. Thnaks again, Rob Maccollum

to all those who couldn't get to the race because of the West Kelowna fires--please email me directly--we will rollover your entries to next year--July 18, 2010! I still have a silver IPod that someone needs to identify to claim.

Hi! I was really looking forward to doing your race this year but was staying in Westbank at my brothers. I was unable to make it to the race as the road was closed due to the fires. I am wondering if I can roll my registration forward and try again next year? I would love to try to fit it in next year.

Special thanks to all the volunteers, especially the two guys in the canoe, those at the aid stations and in the med tent! You were so awesome. I promise to use my inhaler next time!

Thanks for a great event again, Pat. Steve and Jean King were amazing, as usual, and the whole day ran like a well-oiled and happy machine. The Peach is still my favourite triathlon!

With the fires of the this week are you looking at any refunds to all of us that were cut off from the race by the flames? I understand it is not policy however the number of people from the Vernon area alone should let you know there was a real issue getting to the race. Loved the race last year would love to have done it this year,

Sue: decision on wetsuits is dependent on the day of race. An official must take the water temperature in the morning. As of 7PM Saturday, wind blowing from north, and it may bring up cooler water. Bring wetsuit to transition either way. Swim course I believe is clockwise to avoid problems of people walking back to the beach.

When will we find out if we are able to wear wetsuits in the swim...I hear it's supposed to be hot, so I'm concerned we might not be able to wear wetsuits....

The swim map doesn't show the direction of the course. Last year, there were too many swimmers between the buoys and the shoreline. If the direction is the same, this year looks to be even worse, but if the direction is reversed, there is more room on the outside, and therefore less crowding at the start.

Hello, I am trying to compare this past race (2008) with the 2007 one. The results for 2008 are really detailed but the 2007 results seem to have included the transition times with either the swim, bike or run splits. Does anyone know how the times from last year were recorded? aka Swim+T1, T2+run, or T1+bike+T2.. thanks.... Great event this weekend, thoroughly enjoyed it..!!

Since the race, I am missing a size medium nineteen wetsuit, women's in black. It is a rental wetsuit from a store in Vancouver. If you have seen it, please let me know! I was number 201, if that helps, in terms of numbers near me!

TRI Alberta and TRI BC Members are covered at all TRIBC Sanctioned events. All others must buy day of race insurance. Also, all racers must show picture ID at time of race package pick up and must show proof of membership.

Hi Barb, in regards to your question I don't think there is really a 3 stage outfit that you can wear for the race. The swim definitely requires a wetsuit. The pros and many other athletes do wear a bike/run suit under their wetsuit so they are doing minimal changing after the swim. In the past I have worn my cycling/running jersey and shorts under my wet suit. It's all personal choice stuff. In shorter races time is more important I guess vs an Ironman race . . . unless you are very competitive. My personal opinion but I would recommend a full wet suit . . .you never know what the water temp is going to be on race day! Having a full suit also gives you the ability to do races earlier and later in the year. I have known numerous people that have bought shorties and then wished they had the long sleeves. Again, personal choice. Hope that helps! Happy racing.

My husband is a distance runner who has just registered for his first Try-a-Tri in Ottawa. He is planning to just rent a wetsuit; however, I would like to purchase one for him and was wondering whether there was such an item as a suit that can be worn for all 3 stages of the event. If not, what would be best to buy? Short-sleeved? Short-legs? Will the short legs still keep his biking/running shorts dry? You can see we are novices at this! Hope you can help.

Hello athletes--sorry to be so long in getting our on-line entry going for 2008. We have had a number of issues that the organizers must iron out so that you don't receive incorrect information. We will be changing the swim course to a modified triangle, and there may be other changes as well. We will finalize these issues on January 30/08 & the online entry will be available shortly after then. Hope to see you all in Penticton on July 20, 2008. Cheere--Pat Clements, Race Director
