Loyola S.T.E.A.M. Program

STEAM is a holistic approach to learning that interconnects multiple subject areas: Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics. Beginning in the 2024/2025 school year, Loyola is offering a STEAM Interdisciplinary Program for grade 9 students only.

Grade 8 students looking to enter the program will be asked a short series of questions. These questions will be connected to each students’ Individual Pathways Plan to ensure the Loyola STEAM program is the most effective programming option available to them.

If you are cleaning out the garage or basement this long weekend or hitting the grocery store, you might want to think about donating some gently used summer sports equipment and or some non-perishable food items for two of our outreach events! Both bins are inside our atrium!

It’s SPIRIT WEEK! Get out your Hawaiian shirt and your board shorts for Monday and see the themes for every day this week! Thursday is a dress down day, but remember, if you’re not dressing to the theme, you’re expected to be in regular uniform! Come on Hawks, show your spirit!!

To all of our moms…if you brought us into this world, or chose us to be yours, took on the role or found yourself being ‘just like my mom’, if she lives in town or far away or in Heaven…this day is for you! We celebrate you! We thank you! We love you!

Mentor Camp was a blast! New mentors in grade 10 and 11 spent two days with the grade 12 mentors, 8 Loyola staff & the camp counsellors at YMCA Cedar Glen camp! Thanks to Ms Cheal and Mr Mojica for putting it all together! Great lessons, memories and stories to share! #GoHawks

Thank you to Mr. Mikitzel and @LoyolaHawksOak for having the Grade 7’s yesterday!! They loved exploring different learning opportunities in Tech! ⚙️🤖💻🛠️ So much to think about before Grade 9! @hcdsbsteam @StMaryOakville
