What do Ho Chi Minh City aka Saigon, and the Indian Maharashtra state have in common with Shreveport, LA, Minneapolis, MN? Each area has Main Stage artists appearing at the Music Hall this month! Diversity and inclusion have been in our DNA since we opened our doors, and it’s always fun when any particular month especially highlights this.
It also happens to be an extremely jazzy month in Aretha’s Jazz Café, kicking off with a music & photography event, ‘The Preservation of Jazz Great Day’ inspired by the iconic Great Day in Harlem photo. There are Sunday Jazz Jams for learning & mentorship, two ‘Jazz & Cocktails’ events hosted by Sky Covington, another ‘Take 5’ evening celebrating jazz legends, a performance of The Bill Heid Quartet and so much more including tributes to Stevie Wonder and the return of multi-Hall of Famer, Billy Davis and his Rhythm Machine Band.
