At the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, we are fortunate to have so many caring staff members who commit themselves each day to the learning and well-being of students.

The Ministry of Education has announced changes to the Provincial Code of Conduct which must be implemented by all Ontario school boards as of September 1st, 2024. We are inviting input on implementation strategies for these new requirements.

Current and former OCDSB employees may be eligible for retroactive payments following the repeal of the Ontario government’s Bill 124 legislation.

On April 24th, the central arbitration decision was released for OSSTF Education Worker groups. With the decision, the collective agreement for the period of September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2026 came into force.

The OCDSB has scheduled 8 public meetings for the Elementary Program Review. These gatherings will feature small group discussions led by Elementary Principals, Trustees, and Superintendents.

With great sorrow, we share news of the passing of a student from Sir Guy Carleton Secondary School. The student was injured on May 2, 2024 and did not recover from their injuries. Out of respect for the privacy of the family, the name of the student is not being shared at this time.

As part of Mental Health Week, the OCDSB Mental Health Team and Youth Action Committee on Mental Health (YAC) teamed up to create daily challenges that provide ways to focus on your mental health and well-being.

The District is currently reviewing its Policy P.102.CUR Cooperative Education and Experiential Learning. Share your feedback by May 10, 2024.

The OCDSB is looking to improve our elementary program quality and accessibility. We are currently seeking online input from parents/caregivers, students, staff, and community members to help guide decisions moving forward.
