New president of C-CORE

Dr. Charles Randell has been appointed president and CEO of C-CORE. The announcement was made by Harvey Doerr, chair of the board of directors of C-CORE.

Dr. Randell joined C-CORE in 1984 after working in industrial and academic settings. He was appointed director of remote sensing in 1996 and then became vice-president in 2000.

Dr. Randell is well known to C-CORE's industrial and government clients, and has extensive experience in developing and managing innovative engineering programs. As a member of the senior management team, his responsibilities included strategic and business planning initiatives. He recently led a major European initiative that resulted in C-CORE being awarded its largest contract to date. The $12 million program is directed towards Global Monitoring for Environment and Security.

A professional engineer, Dr. Randell has a strong background in remote sensing, radar systems and acoustics. He earned his degrees from Lakehead University and the University of Victoria. He will assume the position in the spring of 2006.

Dr. Randell will work closely with Judith Whittick, the current president and CEO, to assure a smooth transition for clients, stakeholders and staff. Under the leadership of Dr. Randell, C-CORE will continue with its growth and success in the international marketplace. C-CORE is a global corporation providing innovative engineering solutions to clients in the natural resources industries.

The 60-person team at C-CORE has a close partnership with Memorial University, particularly the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, for its program delivery.
