Territorial Acknowledgement
We live, work, and volunteer as uninvited guests in the traditional territory of the Songhees, Esquimalt, and W̱sáneć Nations. The Coast Salish people are leaders, neighbours, and fellow volunteers, and they are the stewards of the land and sea.
We acknowledge that our work is not possible without the generations of First Nations, Inuit, and Metis peoples who came before us and continue to shape community today. Volunteer Victoria works to hold courageous space where everyone feels welcomed, included, respected, and heard. We commit to being engaged allies and active participants on the path of truth, reconciliation, and decolonization.
