Abstract mixed media artist concentrating on color, texture, and minimalism with a modern look. Kate's work is exhibited online and sold internationally as well as in specific galleries and stores in the Northeast US.
Each painting is created in a layering process on gallery wrapped canvas or wood, becoming more detailed as the work is completed. Each painting is achieving a balance of color and texture. While many of her pieces are similar to landscapes, the process ultimately achieves the painting's final result. "My intention is to create a piece that makes a viewer have an aesthetic response by seeing the color and layering in the final painting." Throughout each piece, the application of a texture or scraping off of paint can bring a new level of meaning and clarity to a piece. "The work of minimalist and modern artists as well as the work of the past expressionistic and abstract artists continually inspires me."
